The World Health Organization announced Tuesday that it is examining new evidence that the Corona virus is carried in the air, which could completely change the battle against the virus, which has killed more than half a million cavities worldwide.

A spokeswoman for the organization's infectious disease researcher Benedetta Algranzi said at a Geneva press conference that the organization was "open to new evidence" about the virus's transmission method, after yesterday claiming it had no substantial evidence.

Yesterday, 239 scientists from 32 countries wrote to the World Health Organization an open letter urging him to recognize covid-19 disease as an airborne disease, the New York Times reported on Sunday.

The paper also claims that scientists intend to publish the full letter in a scientific journal next week. The World Health Organization defines the corona virus-induced covid-19 disease as a disease that spreads through a droplet spray that falls to the floor and is not contagious in the air.

Scientists now argue that the amount of virus left in the air after a sneeze or cough is sufficient, especially in confined spaces, to cause another person to be infected again. However, the World Health Organization disagrees with scientists' claims.

Dr. Benedetta Algranzi, the World Health Organization's Infectious Diseases Department's technical director, says the evidence of airborne infection with the corona virus is inconclusive and there is doubt that the virus is actually carried in the air.

Algranzi told The New York Times: "In recent months, we have repeatedly stated that we consider airborne contagion an option but certainly not one that is supported by clear and solid evidence. There is ongoing scientific debate about this."

Despite the allegations, the US newspaper reported that e-mail letters received from over 20 senior scientists and authors of the World Health Organization show that the organization has difficulty staying up to date on important research and experimental results and sometimes chooses to ignore clear conclusions.

If it turns out that the virus is carried in the air, the countries that are fighting to spread it will have to fundamentally change their preparedness to fight the virus in a way that will disable public transport systems, the obligation of masking in confined spaces, and closing down unnecessary public services.
