Emmanuel Macron receives on Wednesday the boss of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach and the president of the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris-2024 (Cojo) Tony Estanguet, to discuss the impact of Covid-19 on the Olympic Games -2024, announced the Elysée. The exchanges will focus, according to the presidency, "on the effects of the health crisis on world sport and the lessons that can be drawn from it to further improve the implementation of the Olympic Games in Paris 2024, such as the environmental impact , the budget and the heritage ”that the Olympic Games will leave to Seine-Saint-Denis, the main location for long-term facilities. They will also discuss the IOC's orientations in the area of “sports diplomacy” for the coming months. Visiting Paris on Wednesday and Thursday, Thomas Bach must also meet the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo and, according to several Olympic players, the IT group Atos, the only French group member of the top IOC sponsors.
