This Tuesday evening, around 8 p.m., a helicopter lands in emergency in the parking lot of the H Market store, a food supermarket located in the Croix-Blanche commercial area, in Fleury-Mérogis. The machine takes charge of a four-year-old girl, knocked down at the entrance of the store, in the parking lot. "A couple left the store with their two children," says a witness. At one point, the little girl turned around. A blue car arrived, driven by a mother with her children behind. She did not see the child and rolled over her. "
According to the same witness, the driver was not driving excessively fast, but had her eyes riveted on the window of the H Market at this precise moment. The first witnesses quickly arranged the traffic. But as access to the firefighters was made difficult, they called on the helicopter.
"The little girl was transported in serious condition to the Necker hospital in Paris," confirms the gendarmerie. She is still hospitalized. To shed light on this tragedy, an investigation was immediately opened. "The toxicological screening of the 41-year-old driver turned out to be negative," continues the same source.
No Pedestrian Crossing
For a connoisseur of the places, this accident reflects the many problems that arise from this parking lot. "There is no pedestrian crossing at the exit of the store, while everyone goes a bit in all directions to find their car," he notes. There is no traffic direction, you have to look left and right. And then, there are also no retarders. "
In the aftermath of the accident, the cars continued to meet in complete anarchy. Without entry or exit, vehicles hardly cross. "You have to look everywhere," notes this man in his forties. People cross with their carts, others load the trunk of their car ... It's really dangerous. "
"This accident will happen ten, fifteen times!"
And to underline the small size of the car park in view of the crowds caused by the H Market store, specializing in halal products, whose low prices attract customers from all over Essonne. "For as many people, this car park is too tight," insists the witness. There are often clashes because it is very narrow. This accident will happen 10, 15 times! "
The private premises belong to the firm H Market, which bought the walls and the parking lot from a major donor of the White Cross. When the store was created, the parking lot was not expanded. Visitors therefore squat cheerfully in front of other shops in the area.
Another connoisseur of the place, who wishes to remain anonymous, tackles the sign: “H Market does not make the slightest effort to invest in parking security. There is a real problem. However, when we sell 3 chickens for 10 euros, and we drain 3000 people a day, it's time to worry. "
