This leak was noted Monday by the technical services, " at the level of a filter on the fuel distribution network " of the depot, the rupture of which " occurred during the weekend " said Tisséo in a press release.
The hydrocarbons, the quantity of which has not been specified, " have infiltrated into the ground in the rainwater networks and thus into the natural environment, including the Hers stream ," added the operator.
Tisséo stopped the leak on Monday, while " two actions were initiated " to treat the affected areas, " the isolation of the site's rainwater networks by shutters " and " the depollution of the natural environment, including the Hers river by absorbent tubes and a weighted skirt dam ”. These operations, underlines the press release, " are carried out by service providers specializing in depollution of natural environments ". According to the regional daily La Dépêche du Midi , the pollution alert was given by the Hers Girou basin joint union, which manages the river.
