Gérald Darmanin will arrive in Bayonne at 12 noon and will give an update on security in the city with the heads of state services. Then at 1 p.m. he will meet the drivers and unions of public transport, said the entourage. The assault of Philippe Monguillot, 59, beaten and seriously injured in the head on Sunday, created a strong emotion especially among his colleagues.
6000 people during the white march
A white march gathered Wednesday 6000 people behind the wife and three daughters of the victim. Two men, 22 and 23 years old and known to the police, are suspected of having carried out the beatings. They were indicted on Tuesday for attempted homicide and imprisoned.
According to the Bayonne prosecution, the bus driver was the victim of an " extremely violent " assault when he wanted to control the ticket of one person and demanded the wearing of the mask for three others.
