The senator who approached the idea to Alberto Fernández of intervening Vicentin referred to the President's statements about the backtracking on the cereal expropriation project announced by the Government and which generated strong rejection.

This is Anabel Fernández Sagasti, one of the legislators close to Cristina Kirchner and a benchmark for La Cámpora, who played a key role in the plan to nationalize the emblematic company of Santa Fe and who spoke on Tuesday after the president acknowledged having committed a mistake with the initiative.

"It was a comment because some of the opposition made comments by Vicentin lightly and the President said this ('I was wrong'), but he also confirmed that the subject of expropriation is an instrument with respect to the ultimate goal, the objective, which is that the company does not collapse, "said the senator in dialogue with El Destape.

After the controversy to nationalize the cereal, which generated criticism from the opposition and marches against the entire country, the head of state referred to the issue. " I was wrong about the Vicentin issue because I believed that the situation was much more accepted. I thought that everyone was going to party because we were recovering a very important company," said the president.

At the beginning of June, Fernández Sagasti defended in the Constitutional Affairs commission of the upper chamber the project that he devised ´with the premise of safeguarding Banco Nación, the state banking entity that was in the midst of controversy over the loans granted to the cereal company during the management of Javier González Fraga.

"Let us hope that progress is continued in a process, that the President sees it this way and a large part of the Cabinet, that what is important is the objective that a company important to the Argentine economy can continue operating because there are thousands of workers and producers behind it and that the Banco Nación can collect the money it loaned, "he assured this Tuesday.

And he remarked the banking entity that Eduardo Hecker presides as "one of the main economic-productive tools of the national government." Like the President, the senator reproached that they continue "waiting for the alternatives that many said by the media but that never came to the subject of the rescue of Vicentin."

" If Banco Nación falls, we are going to have a very big problem , luckily that will not happen because the administration and management have changed, but it was on the brink with this mismanagement, which caused us to almost run out of a tool very important, "said Fernández Sagasti.

Despite his concern for the national bank, from the opposition, businessmen and producers of the agricultural sector and with multiple protests throughout the country, he was warned about the danger of the violation of private property that entails the initiative to expropriate Vicentin and that the The president presented on June 8 invoking "food sovereignty . "

In Congress, the idea of nationalizing had the necessary support in the Senate, but not in Deputies, where the Front of All did not have the votes to make the project into law.

In addition, in Justice the idea did not prosper either. Judge Fabián Lorenzini, who is in charge of the company, in his time displaced the auditors appointed by the national government to put them in the place of "watchdogs" and replaced the executives of the cereal company.
