In place of the traditional parade, the nation will pay tribute to all the military and civilian personnel engaged in the fight against co

It is almost without public that the National Day will take place. The traditional military parade has been maintained but has been revised and corrected because of the coronavirus epidemic in France which prohibits any gathering of more than 5,000 people.

The soldiers will not parade on the Champs-Élysées but will carry out a more or less static "gathering" on the Place de la Concorde. Slightly fewer soldiers will be present, half as many as in previous years. There will also be no motorized parade for lack of space, but the air show has been maintained.

In a tribune reduced to 2,000 spectators, including 1,400 carers, the Élysée detailed that there would be "cashiers, garbage collectors, all those professions that have enabled France to hold on and whose French people want to see exemplary behavior honored " The military will also be honored, notably through their participation in the fight against the coronavirus through Operation Resilience launched at the end of March.

For the first time since the Second World War, this gathering will be cut short for a duration of approximately 1h15 against two hours usually.

An air parade maintained

After the arrival of Emmanuel Macron on the Place de la Concorde and the review of the troops, the homage to General de Gaulle will be paid by the passage of the Patrouille de France with the participation of the Royal Air Force, with two fighters of Typhoon type. Entitled "a life for France", the homage to General de Gaulle will include three paintings: "The visionary fighter" (1937 - 1940), "From the Call to Liberation - the spirit of the Resistance" and "A certain idea of France - the spirit of the Republic ”.

This ceremony will open in the sky of Paris with the aerial parade of around thirty aircraft in the La Défense - Place de l'Etoile - Place de la Concorde axis. Another strong point is the parade of the troops on foot before an animation in tribute to the Nation.
