In an interview with CBS, the US president responded to the claim that African Americans continue to die under the auspices of law enforcement • Trump attacked the submitter on the question

US President Donald Trump was interviewed last Monday on the American television network CBS and discussed the issue of police violence and the blacks' protest in the country.

When the president was asked by the presenter why blacks are killed by law enforcement agencies he firmly answered "what a terrible question to ask. Whites are killed too! By the way, even more whites than blacks". While protests continue across the country and calls for an account and estimate of the situation the black community is facing, some argue that Trump's statement is "misleading and insensitive to the race issue."

Later in the interview, the president defended the issue of the controversial Confederate flag and said that "this is something that people love and connect with. I know a lot of people for whom there is no connection between the flag and the issue of slavery." Trump did not disclose his personal position on the issue but hinted that he supports the right to freedom of expression on the issue. "There are a lot of feelings and opinions about the flag and its meaning but I think it's all a matter of freedom of expression," he said.

He then referred to Trump for the corona virus and the decision of many schools to start the next school year remotely and claimed that in his opinion "this is a mistake". When asked what he has to say to worried parents and teachers he said that "people are dying as a result of a long stay at home. The decision to continue distance learning is terrible. Mothers cannot go out to work because they have to stay home and look after their children. The decision is completely political."
