Who would have thought that one day, there would be something astonishing to see a collection parading in public? While fashion was barely getting used to the filmed performances, Etro revealed its Spring-Summer on July 15 in a very traditional show, in the gardens of the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan. A far from trivial choice, since the collection drew its inspiration from the observation of elegant hotel guests.
Faithful to the Etro spirit, the models are dressed in bright patterns and colors, sometimes wearing a travel bag carried by hand. In men, blazers with madras checks, stripes and the house's iconic cashmere pattern stand out. The pants are worn short, sometimes rolled up. Military-inspired pieces, like the reproductions of M65, are diverted, made in floral camouflage. The materials are sometimes vintage, like on denim pants, sometimes eco-responsible: the eucalyptus fiber dresses shirts, the fabric made from recycled plastic, polo shirts.
In a press release, Kean and Veronica Etro, artistic directors of the brand, declared that they wanted to "show that Etro is a family that lives in a world of joie de vivre, color, and positivity. " With this colorful collection, the goal is reached.
