Barely more than 24 hours after the interview with Emmanuel Macron, Jean Castex speaks this Wednesday afternoon in the National Assembly for his general policy speech.
The Prime Minister is notably expected on several themes for which the Head of State did not provide many details. This is the case, for example, of the obligation to wear a mask in public places closed in "the next few weeks", economic aid for young people, or the postponement of the total abolition of the tax dwelling.
It could also address the issue of decentralization and the role of territories, which Emmanuel Macron has hardly addressed.
At the end of Jean Castex's speech, which could last more than an hour, a parliamentary debate will begin and each group president will be able to speak at the podium.
MPs will then be asked to vote to say if they place their "confidence" in the Prime Minister and his government. He hopes to do better than his predecessor Edouard Philippe who had been supported by 370 then 363 deputies in July 2017 and in June 2019 (out of a total of 577 elected officials).
