The question has been repeated since Wednesday, July 8, the day Naya Rivera disappeared: What happened that afternoon at Lake Piru in California?
Now, after the discovery of her body and to provide a little more clarity about it, the United States authorities released the autopsy report of the 33-year-old actress, who had achieved world fame for her role as Santana López in the Glee series.
According to a Ventura County statement, the forensic analysis was performed the day after Rivera's body was found and his dental records were used to determine his identity.

This detailed that no indications of traumatic injuries or illnesses that could have contributed to the drowning were found. Furthermore, no preliminary indications were found that drugs or alcohol could play a role in his death.

The conclusion of the report, in short, was clear: "The cause of death is drowning. The form of death was accidental," he described. Now the next step is to do more routine drug and alcohol toxicology tests.

According to the information that the authorities were collecting throughout these days, Rivera drowned after saving the life of Josey Hollis Dorsey , her 4-year-old little son.

"After talking to the son, we know that he and Naya swam in the lake at some point in the day. The little boy described that he was helped by Naya to get on the boat , who pushed him from behind to the deck," explained Bill Ayub.
And he had described a very disturbing image : that the boy then turned to see her disappear into the water. "She must have gathered enough energy to carry her son back to the ship, but not enough to save herself, " he had added.
In this way, Naya Rivera became the ninth person to have died in California's Piru Lake since 1994.
