A man, placed in police custody for drunkenness, was found hanged in his cell Wednesday morning at the gendarmerie of Tréport (Seine-Maritime), we learned from a source close to the file.
The source said the man, who was in his sixties, was agitated and placed in a cell around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening for overt drunkenness.
Hanged with a rubber band or cord
At the check carried out around 1:30 am / 2 am, the man was found hanged with an elastic or a cord which could come from the shorts he was wearing, it was said from the same source.
Requested Wednesday morning, the Dieppe prosecution had not communicated at the start of the afternoon.
