Together for Change proposes to set a temporary and mobile retirement formula until the final one is set

After the decision of the Salta justice, the deputies of Together for Change, led by the radical Luis Petri, propose to establish  a transitional formula - which includes mobility - until it is agreed how the final calculation of pensions will be.

They want to reestablish pension mobility suspended since December, creating a transitional formula, made up of the consumer price index (CPI) and the Average Taxable Remuneration of Stable Workers (RIPTE) in equal parts, taking the Caliva ruling that endorsed the Federal Chamber from Salta.

This initiative - signed by some twenty legislators - goes against the adjustment plan that the Government had attempted with selective increases because this new formula proposed by the opposition is similar to the one that was voted during the administration of Cambiemos. 

"Retirement mobility is a right guaranteed by our Constitution and it is the duty of this Congress to ensure it. To extend the suspension of retirement mobility is to consent and validate an outrage to the pocket of our retirees, which is not redistributive or solidary. And it is essential to restore it "Petri stressed.

The idea is that this new formula will govern until the mixed commission - created from the December Solidarity Law that suspended mobility - establishes the new formula.

"As the ruling maintains, in emergencies it is when one must watch over compliance with the constitutional guarantees, which are established for this and retirement mobility is one of them. There are no excuses for not complying with the Constitution, "said UCR president, deputy Alfredo Cornejo.

"The Federal Chamber of Salta has ratified in its ruling the principles that we have been holding in the parliamentary discussion, that mobility is a constitutional right and that there must be at all times an index set by Congress that gives pensioners predictability on how much It will be his credit, "added the radical Alejandro Cacace. If he applied a single formula for all, this would prevent the Government from advancing in the strategy of flattening the pyramid, which was possible by giving greater increases to lower pensions.

In June, the Government extended by decree the suspension of the pension mobility law until the end of the year, therefore the adjustments corresponding to September and December would be set by decree .

But on Monday, Chamber II of the Federal Chamber of Salta resolved that until Congress passes a new mobility law, increases in retirements and pensions by decree cannot be less than the rates set in the rent law that establishes 50% inflation and 50% RIPTE, recently sanctioned by Congress.

Thus, in the judgment the judges Alejandro Castellanos, Mariana Inés Catalano and Guillermo Federico Elías, in the "Calvia case, Roberto Daniel s / various adjustments", do not resolve to apply the suspended formula but fix a third variant as a floor for increases by decree , minimum that must be applied to all the beneficiaries of the system.
