HSBC announced that it will adjust the business hours of all service outlets of retail banks starting from July 20 (Monday). The business hours from Monday to Friday will be changed from 9am to 4pm. The business hours on Saturday remain unchanged (9am to 1pm). The three mobile banks of HSBC will also suspend services until further notice.
At the same time, HSBC's two SME centers in Kwun Tong and Sheung Shui will be temporarily suspended from July 21, 2020 (Tuesday) until further notice. The bank has also temporarily closed three retail bank branches and an SME center.
HSBC added that the current situation of new coronaviruses in Hong Kong is constantly changing. Other banks have announced the adjustment of branch service measures (as of July 19):
BOC Hong Kong (2388) said that in response to the needs of community epidemic prevention work, Ciyunshan Yuhua Street Branch, Lantian Branch and Hong Kong International Airport Branch are currently closed until further notice.
The banking services of Standard Chartered (2888) West Kowloon Station Express Banking Center, Causeway Bay Branch and Tsim Sha Tsui Corporate Express Center have been suspended until further notice.
Hang Seng Bank's (0011) branch's service hours on Saturday have been shortened to 12 noon.
The business hours of all branches of Bank of East Asia (0023) are temporarily adjusted from 9 am to 4 pm from Monday to Friday until further notice. The cut-off time for depositing cheques through the ATM is also changed to 4 pm.
Shanghai Commercial Bank announced that it will temporarily adjust the business hours of its branches from 20th of this month. From Monday to Friday from 9am to 4:15pm, there will be 7 branches including Central Headquarters, Hennessy Road Branch, West Loop Branch, Mong Kok Branch, Tsim Sha Tsui Branch, Tsuen Wan Branch and Yuen Long Branch adjusted their business hours from 9am to 12 noon, and the rest of the branches were closed.
China Merchants Wing Lung Bank announced that Ciyunshan Branch will suspend business from 2 pm on the 17th of this month until further notice. Starting from the 20th of this month, the business hours of other branches will be changed from 10 am to 4 pm from Monday to Friday.
Dah Sing Bank (2356) announced that all branches will temporarily adjust their business hours starting on the 16th of this month until further notice. Starting from the 16th of this month, every Monday to Friday, business hours 9am to 4pm; Saturday 9am to 1pm.
