To break a resumption of the Covid-19 epidemic, the wearing of the mask becomes compulsory from Monday July 20 in closed places receiving the public. The measure was anticipated locally in Mayenne, on certain markets and islands of Finistère or even in Saint-Ouen, in Seine-Saint-Denis. For the entire territory, it is therefore Monday, as the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran confirmed on Saturday. While waiting for the decree which must specify the places concerned and the possible sanctions, here is already what to expect.
- In enclosed public places
Wearing a mask in closed public places " concerns shops, establishments open to the public, covered markets, banks ... " detailed Olivier Véran in a tweet.
According to the service-public.fr site, " establishments open to the public " (ERP) are " buildings in which outside persons are admitted [...] regardless of whether access is paid, free, free, restricted or by invitation ”. This includes in particular: public services (health establishments, prefectures, libraries, etc.), shops, shopping centers, sports halls, places of worship, theaters and screenings (cinemas), hotels, museums.
- In supermarkets
The Federation of Commerce and Distribution (FCD) said Sunday in a statement, that the wearing of the mask became mandatory in all stores of major food brands from Monday. This decision concerns the stores of the Auchan, Aldi, Carrefour, Colruyt, Cora, Groupe Casino, Intermarché, Leclerc, Lidl, Netto, Supermarché Match and Système U stores, specifies the FCD.
- In public transports
As for public transport, nothing has changed. Since May 11, the date of deconfinement, the wearing of a mask is mandatory for passengers from 11 years old.
- In the enterprises ?
Wearing a mask at the office is in principle not compulsory, unless the company decides. Companies "must manage on a case-by-case basis, depending on the situation," said Prime Minister Jean Castex on Thursday. And according to the service-public.fr site which lists the " establishments open to the public " (ERP), "a company not open to the public, but only to staff, is not an ERP".
- What sanctions?
Today, in public transport, offenders are liable to a fine of 135 euros. In Mayenne, where the prefect who made it compulsory to wear a mask in public places, the fine is the same amount. Ditto in Finistère where non-compliance with the measures is punishable by a fine of 135 euros.
