The Grand Est was one of the regions most affected by the coronavirus epidemic and if the situation has clearly improved, the health authorities have observed in recent days an increase in the number of cases. Thus, the " R0 ", which measures the average number of people infected by a patient, has risen over the past three weeks from 0.72 to 0.84, then to 0.98 last Friday.

In total, 31 clusters are being investigated or monitored in the Grand Est, the two most important located in the Vosges, one resulting from a family gathering and the other in a medico-social establishment.
