He finally reacted. Guest of the 8 p.m. of TF1 this Tuesday evening, Emmanuel Macron was questioned about the very numerous violence that has plagued the country for several days. While a bus driver was fatally assaulted two weeks ago; that a firefighter was shot and injured last week; that a young girl has just died after being dragged by a car for 800 meters, the President of the Republic has promised " zero tolerance ". " We will be intractable, " he firmly warned.

According to him, " an immediate response is necessary ", and it must be accompanied by a " profound change of state of mind ". " Anyone who carries the republican authority (...) deserves respect and we will not tolerate any deviation ", he insisted, promising to " strengthen the equipment " and " strengthen the support policies " of law enforcement, firefighters and nursing staff. So many officials who are targeted even though they “ carry republican authority ”.
Indignant reactions to the right
To denounce the savage acts of which these representatives of the State are victims, Emmanuel Macron however saw fit to use the term " incivility ". “ We will take all necessary measures to ensure that the legal response is rapid and meets these incivilities. (...) We cannot accept - and I will not accept - in our country that these incivilities become a habit ”, he assured. " Security, on a daily basis, is what guarantees public order, republican order, that is to say true freedom, " he concluded.
In the wake of his intervention, several voices were immediately raised, especially on the right, to denounce the choice of words of the President of the Republic. “ Emmanuel Macron questioned on the murder of a gendarme, the ultra-violent assault of a bus driver and shots against a firefighter speaks twice of 'incivility'. This lexical laxity inevitably leads to judicial laxity ”, was indignant in particular the boss of senators LR, Bruno Retailleau, on his Twitter account.
