The song 'So many stones to remember' written by the master in memory of the victims of the collapse of the Morandi Bridge (ANSA)


On the occasion of the inauguration of the 'Genova San Giorgio' bridge (August 3) there will be a concert dedicated to Genoa, its musical civilization and its history. Among the songs there will be an unpublished written for the occasion by Ennio Morricone. The appointment is on July 31st at the Carlo Felice theater.
    The song 'So many stones to remember' song for orchestra, choir and white voice, written by Ennio Morricone, on own text, in memory of the victims of the collapse of the Morandi Bridge will open 'Il concerto per Genova'. Composed on commission from the Carlo Felice Theater and the Municipality of Genoa, it is the last piece completed by the maestro, who wanted to donate it to the city. On the podium, the composer's son, Andrea Morricone. By invitation, 900 people will be able to participate in the concert by invitation.

    "This concert - comments the President of the Liguria Region, Giovanni Toti - represents a moment of recollection that unites an entire community, which has suffered so much for the tragedy of Morandi but who has also been able to react with strength and determination".
    For Mayor Bucci "is the tribute to the victims of the bridge and to the city for what it has experienced and suffered. But also a moment to remember the glorious and industrious history of Genoa".

    "The Concert for Genoa - says the Superintendent of the Carlo Felice Theater, Claudio Orazi - is an opportunity to reflect on the cultural identity of the city as the engine for the future of the city itself; it is a tribute to Genoa which, over the centuries, has been a center and center of culture. In addition, together with the mayor, we wanted to involve Maestro Ennio Morricone as a witness of a musical meditation dedicated to the victims of the Morandi bridge ".
