Most football fans will know to recognize the name of Oliver Atom , as he was called by Latin America, or even Tsubasa Ōzora , such his name in Japanese. The protagonist of "Super Champions", the sports anime who landed in these lands back in the 1990s, marked an era and to this day captures fans on screen and in streaming . If this was all the rage, is it possible to imagine what would have happened if the good guy Oliver wore the Boca or River shirt? Well, it is what happens with its equivalent in volleyball: Oikawa Tooru , the crack of the anime  "Haikyuu !!" , who gets to play ... La Liga Argentina!

As in "Super Champions", a story in which Atom goes to Brazil to play in Brancos, a club that has the shirt and colors of São Paulo (for a matter of rights a fictitious name is used), Oikawa signs in the I encouraged a contract as a player of "CA San Juan Volleyball". It was enough for the Twitter user @stiirped to connect that club with UPCN, the most iconic team in that province, and draw the character in the royal coat, so that the fandom of the series materialized the same.

The author of the most widely-used drawing, a work that could easily pass for the authorship of Haruichi Furudate, the creator of the anime, and who even chose to use the club account (although they did not quote it) is called Manuela Pianesi , who acknowledges her surprise at read in the story that Oikawa came to play in Argentina. "It seemed tremendous to me," she said.

"A few years ago I started working in an animation studio and they recommended a lot of things to see, most of them I encouraged. That is how I ended up arriving in Haikyuu about three years ago," the young woman from San Isidro tells Clarín , but not before laundering. his dream: "I would like to get to do something that big and recognized."

Manuela Pianesi, the artist who designed the anime character Oikawa, dressed in the UPCN San Juan Volley jersey, with another of her materials.

What was the first; the egg or the chicken? Pianesi admits that his link with volleyball was more because he had played it in high school, but that from the comic he got closer. "Since I started reading and looking at the manga, I went to some games and I keep up with the Argentine teams," he explains.

And he is encouraged to tell an infidelity that divides the waters between the San Juan clubs: "I have mixed feelings, because I bank UPCN but in reality I am from Obras". Of course: his talent was respectful of the original story.

In the club, meanwhile, they didn't let the chance pass, of course. The mentions to the union club's Twitter account were adding up and despite the fact that months had passed since that initial sketch, the immersion in history on the part of the people of San Juan came with everything.
