More witnesses testified. The pods served next to the body of "Piolo" Moreyra, another detail that presents doubts.

The defense of retired Jorge Ríos (70), who a week ago shot and killed a thief who had broken into his home, robbed this Friday that some points of the investigation carried out by prosecutor Ariel Rivas, from the Quilmes Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 1.

A week after the incident, in which the assailant Franco "Piolo" Moreyra (26) ended up dead, Ríos' lawyer, Hugo Icazati, confirmed to Clarín that they would insist that an investigation be carried out for "false testimony" against the bus lineman. 257 surnamed Monzón, who said he was passing by his car (Fiat Uno, which appears in the video) when he saw and heard that the retiree beat and shot Moreyra.

"That man testified twice. In his first statement, he had not said that," Icazati said. In line with that questioning, the lawyer announced that they will request the testimonial statement of a young man, named Iván, who circulated some WhatsApp audios in which he "implies that his uncle, Monzón, knows the dead thief, Moreyra."

The other point, which seems "strange" to the defense, is that of the served pods. In the case, there are three that were found in the street, next to Moreyra's body. Two are from the same brand, but the other is not. And none of the three matches the brand of the box of 50 ammunition that Ríos has at home for his Bersa 9mm pistol, with all the papers in order.

Retired Jorge Ríos (70) was beaten by thieves and was detained for killing one of them, in Quilmes.

Anyway, a ballistic expertise is missing that will shed absolute light on all those grays. Also about the dynamics and trajectory of the shots.

This Friday three testimonial statements were made by residents of Ríos, which were added to another that had been made on Thursday. "They said they did not see anything strange, nor did they hear gunshots," Icazati said.

For the fact, there are three detainees (all refused to testify) and one fugitive. The last to fall was Daniel Ezequiel Córdoba (25), in Villa La Vera, Quilmes. The arrest was carried out by personnel from the Departmental Directorate of Investigations (DDI) in Quilmeña after the suspect himself commented among his relatives and in the neighborhood about his participation in the assault on the pensioner's home. Cristian Chara (23) and Martín Ariel Salto (27) had already fallen.

Meanwhile, Nicolás Claudio Dahmer remains at large. "Peque" has a criminal record and last April he was released from a prison on parole for a collective habeas corpus that made it easier to release prisoners from Buenos Aires due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In turn, more than 150,000 people signed until Friday afternoon a petition on the Change.org platform to release the blacksmith, who continues to be charged with "homicide aggravated by the use of a firearm" although under house arrest.

The request, entitled "Justice and liberation of Jorge Ríos, retired who defended himself" (www.change.org/liberenjubilado), was created three days ago by a woman who, in the text accompanying the publication, considered that "this retired he defended himself to take care of his own. "

On the other hand, the parents of Adrián Novillo (16), a teenager who was beaten to death by a group of young people at the exit of a bowling alley, in 2014 in Quilmes, assured that the gang that attacked their son is the same one that assaulted the retired.

The deceased Moreyra was linked to the Quilmes club fans , who clarified that the people who approached the stadium with the funeral procession of that "are not part of institutional life" and that its facilities were not made available to any member or person.

The incident occurred on the 17th of this month, around 5, when five thieves entered the third night in the same night to rob the house of Ríos, located Ayolas at 2700, in Quilmes Oeste.

The retiree was caught in his sleep, beaten and intimidated by the assailants with a screwdriver, so he pulled out a 9mm Bersa Thunder pistol and shot them.

In the images of the security cameras it is seen that one of the thieves, later identified as Moreyra, was left behind from the rest of the band because he was injured in an ankle (fractured when jumping a rammed earth) and tried to flee limping until he fell to around the corner.

In the same videos it is seen that Ríos came out of his house armed and caught Moreyra, kicked and checked him.

Although in the filming there is no flash to the naked eye due to the poor quality of the image, the prosecution believes that in that place, 60 meters from his house and when Moreyra no longer represented any danger, the retiree finished him off.
