Former pilot Esteban Tuero suffered a brutal accident while driving his motorcycle and hit another motorcycle that a delivery driver was driving. The former Formula 1 is admitted to the British Hospital of the City of Buenos Aires, where he underwent surgery for multiple fractures.

Although the accident happened on Tuesday, the news came out this Friday, when it was learned that Tuero, 42, fractured his right hand, left clavicle, rib and two fingers. As a result, he had to undergo surgery.

The journalist Luis Cali, host of the Vuelta Previa radio series, Tuero "is still hospitalized, he is lucid and in pain."

As can be seen in the video from the security cameras of the Buenos Aires Government, Tuero was circulating on Avenida Avenida when another motorcyclist recklessly crossed him when he made an improper maneuver - he turned on u - with the intention of avoiding turning around the block. The Caballito native retired from motorsports in 2016 aboard a National Tourism car, a category of which he was champion in 2008. In 2017, meanwhile, the City of Buenos Aires recognized him for his career, which includes Formula 1 .

Tuero is one of only twenty-two Argentine pilots to run at least one Grand Prix of the highest category. In total there were 16 with Minardi in the 1998 season, three years after starting his international career in Europe at just 17 years old.

"It was the highest point. I had the chance to stay there. I never told anyone why I returned to Argentina. I don't even remember well. But I felt it for some reason, for a sum of things. He was also very young and impulsive. And don't hesitate to make the decision, ”he recalled in an interview with Clarín on the day of his retirement.

Later, the Caballito rider, a Ferro fan, returned to the country and participated in the TC2000 until 2007. He also ran in Road Tourism, Top Race and National Tourism.
