Last update date: 2020-07-30 16:43The Mei Foo Barbecue Restaurant "Gee Chiyaki" was alleged to have occupied part of the land at Kau Wah Lane held by Lai Yuen without permission. Li Yuan filed a petition with the High Court yesterday (29th), requesting the court to issue an injunction order prohibiting the barbecue site from occupying the site and to make compensation.
The plaintiff is Liyuan Amusement Garden Co., Ltd., and the defendant is Meixie Farm Co., Ltd., which operates "Jijiyaki".
The plaintiff filed a complaint alleging that since 1964, he had held the land involved in the Mei Foo Jiuhua Trail, which had always had an open space with shrubs. However, the plaintiff discovered in June this year that there were 2 to 3 tents on the land, enclosed by iron fences. The plaintiff alleges that the conquered objects were placed on the "Yijiyaki" that operated a barbecue on the adjacent land.
The plaintiff sent a lawyer's letter on June 27 this year, requesting the defendant to remove the possession, but it failed.
The plaintiff requested the court to issue an order for the defendant to remove the seized property and make compensation. The plaintiff also requested the court to issue an injunction order prohibiting the defendant from occupying the land involved in the case.
