The Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez lived a dream day in the mythical Wembley stadium when he was crowned FA Cup champion with Arsenal and once the judge blew the end of the match he began to get excited remembering his family. Even, until almost unable to give an interview to official television with his team's top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the Gabonese who conquered both goals and was the hero of the final.

Martinez, 27, stammered when the interviewer asked them about their families: "I can't speak right now ...". Quickly, Aubameyang stepped in to hug him and say, "You are the best brother, well done."

When he recovered, Martínez spoke about his partner, who was the figure and scored both goals in the final. "I said to him that he was going to make us win the game, because he was the captain and he did it, but I cannot speak about my family," said the goalkeeper and broke down in tears again . "I have great respect for this man," said Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after hugging him again. Finally, Emiliano left the interview without being able to continue talking ...

Martínez then had an intimate and private moment when he grabbed his cell phone, put on his headphones, and at the edge of the playing field, sitting against the advertising posters, made a video call with his family in which he was very excited.

Beyond the fact of having been able to be close to their own, even if it is virtual, this title is a soccer rematch for the Mar del Plata goalkeeper considering that after having arrived at Arsenal in 2012 when he was very young, the London club he loaned six times.

First to Oxford United (2012) and then to Sheffield Wednesday (2013-14), Rotherham United (2015), Wolverhampton Wanderers (2015-16), Getafe (2017-18) and Reading (2019). Only now, with the Spanish Mikel Arteta as coach, he managed to start and settle in Arsenal, taking advantage of the injury of Bernard Leno, who had been the starting goalkeeper.

Martínez had good interventions in the FA Cup final that Arsenal beat Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley and could do nothing when Christian Pulisic was in front of his goal and opened the scoreboard for the team led by Frank Lampard. Then Pierre Emerick Aubameyang would be in charge of arranging things and guiding the Gunners to the 14th trophy of the competition.

General Urquiza, Workshops (blocks from the Sagrada Familia School, which he attended, in his neighborhood) and San Isidro de Mar del Plata were his boy's clubs. A technician friend ("Cacho" Gonzalo) got him a test at Independiente "Pepe" Santoro changed his nickname (from Emi he came to call him Dibu) at the Avellaneda club.

He made the lower ones in the Red but did not make his debut under the three suits. Dibu showed off with the U-17 Selection at the 2009 South American U-17, in Chile) and was sold to the English Arsenal in April of that year for 500 thousand euros. Now, Drawing Martinez is closely followed by Lionel Scaloni, who would have him on file for the next calls of the Argentina National Team.
