The defendant has been granted bail by the ICAC and will be heard on Thursday.

The 67-year-old defendant Lin Deliang, formerly the former general manager of Longjiang Investment Co., Ltd., was charged with 15 counts of theft and violated Article 9 of the Theft Ordinance. Since the sole director and shareholder of Longjiang is not often in Hong Kong, the defendant was authorized to handle all the business of the company when the case was committed. In addition, the defendant was one of the authorized signatories of a bank account in Longjiang. He keeps the cheque book of the bank account and can issue cheques for business-related purposes.
Lin Deliang was suspected of stealing 15 debts owed to Longjiang from the above-mentioned bank on 15 occasions between December 3, 2012 and May 27, 2014, totaling 22 million yuan, each ranging from 200,000 to 6 million yuan. Lin She self-issued company cheques and withdrew the money from Longjiang's bank account.

The ICAC received a corruption complaint earlier and revealed the suspected crime after investigation. The defendant appeared in the Eastern Magistracy on Thursday (6th), pending the transfer of the case to the District Court for defense, and has been granted bail by the ICAC.
