Agents of the General Directorate of External Security (DGSE), created in 1982 and attached to the Ministry of the Armed Forces, have they attempted to commit a murder against a fifty-something? In the heart of summer, this case is intriguing to the point. Le Figaro looks back on the first known elements of this highly sensitive issue.

On Friday July 24, at 8.20 a.m., two soldiers aged 25 and 28 assigned to the specialized parachutist training center of Cercottes (Loiret), were arrested in Créteil (Val-de-Marne) after the report of a local resident. "They seemed to be preparing to carry out a criminal project to the detriment of a 54-year-old woman," said the Paris prosecutor's office.
The two men are gloved and carry army knives. They are in a stolen car "with a broken window and a false license plate" parked near the building of the alleged target. Inside the vehicle, investigators discover a red bag containing a loaded handgun.

A third arrest
Two days later, following major telephone investigations, a third man was arrested and taken into police custody. Unlike the first two suspects, he is not in the military, but works in private security.
On July 28, the three men were indicted for "attempted murder in an organized gang", "concealment by an organized gang of theft, transport, acquisition, possession of category B weapons in a meeting" and "criminal association. with a view to the commission of crimes and misdemeanors punishable by 10 years of imprisonment ”. In the process, they are placed in pre-trial detention.
Five suspected men in all
On July 30 and 31, two other men were in turn taken into police custody. They were indicted on August 3 for "complicity in attempted murder in an organized gang" and "participation in a criminal association with a view to the commission of crimes and misdemeanors punishable by 10 years' imprisonment".

One of them is also charged with an indictment of "transport, acquisition, possession of category B weapons in assembly" and is placed in pre-trial detention. The other, who also happens to be an agent of the DGSE, is also indicted for "concealment of an organized robbery". He is the only one of the five suspects to be placed under judicial supervision and not in pre-trial detention.
The investigation, entrusted to the anti-terrorism section of the criminal brigade of the Paris police headquarters, is now continuing with the aim of "identifying all the protagonists involved as perpetrators or accomplices, and to determine who were the springs of this criminal project, ” concludes the Paris prosecutor's office.
