According to Palestinian security sources, clashes between young Palestinians and Israeli forces broke out on the night of Thursday to Friday near Jenin, a northern sector of the West Bank, a Palestinian territory occupied since 1967 by the Hebrew state. An Israeli army spokesman confirmed the clashes, adding that a " routine " operation turned into a " riot " in which Palestinian youths opened fire, threw stones and explosive devices in the direction of soldiers.

The Israeli army says it tried to disperse the crowd without specifying the precise nature of the means employed. But according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Dalia Samoudi was wounded by an Israeli bullet, notably to the liver, while she was at home. The young woman was rushed to intensive care where she succumbed to her injuries on Friday.
