Corona spread worldwide: According to Johns Hopkins University, the number of people infected with the virus has crossed the 19 million mark and many countries are continuing to look for ways to curb the rise in the number of people infected.

Authorities in India reported tonight (Friday) that over the past day, about 62,538 new infections have been diagnosed, a figure that has raised the total number of cases to more than 2 million since the plague broke out in the country, and the death toll stands at 41,585. At the same time, about 1.3 people are defined as recovering. In mid-July, about a million cases have been registered since the virus broke out in the country in January, but it took only 12 days in which about half a million more were registered, and 9 days to reach 2 million.

The African continent also reached a peak when this morning crossed the threshold of one million diagnosed cases, with most of them diagnosed in southern countries, with 536,184 infected. Yesterday, the continent's representative at the World Health Organization, Dr. Mashidisu Moati, warned that the lack of tests is still one of the significant challenges that needs to be addressed.

In South America, a significant increase was observed in the number of cases in the various countries. In Peru, a daily peak of infections was broken when about 7,785 people were diagnosed during the last day and the total number of infections is over 455,000. According to local health authorities 194 died as a result of the virus or its complications yesterday and the total number of victims stands at 20,424.

Brazil continues to have a number of high casualties and infections, second only to the United States. Yesterday, about 53,139 new cases were diagnosed and 1,237 people died. The total number of people diagnosed since the outbreak of the virus is close to 3 million and stands at 2,912,212. The death toll also continues to climb to 98,493.

Meanwhile, President Jair Bolsonero, who declared last week that he had recovered from the virus, announced yesterday that the government would invest $ 356 million in a study by the international pharmaceutical company Astrazenka and the University of Oxford to find a vaccine for the corona virus. According to Health Minister Eduardo Pazuelo, the study is one of the most advanced and insuring among those conducted around the world.
