False serial bomb threats targeted the premises of several health authorities in Germany on the night of Friday to Saturday, said German police, who have not found any explosive device at this stage. The premises of the health authorities in Olpe, in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (west of the country), had to be temporarily evacuated Friday evening after one of these false alarms. Police officers and specialized dogs searched the building, without result.
Same scenario in Cologne where the health authorities received a call reporting a bomb, even if there, the police indicated not to have taken the threat seriously. Finally in Bavaria, several homes were evacuated during the night in Ansbach, after a call received by the police indicating that the buildings of the local health authorities were threatened.
In July, several district courts were evacuated in Germany after bomb threats. Nothing had been discovered during the search and no suspect had been arrested.
A man is currently on trial in Germany for having sent more than 100 letters containing far-right remarks to politicians, journalists and officials between October 2018 and April 2019. His threats had prompted numerous evacuations, particularly at Lübeck station and a tax center in Gelsenkirchen.
