The Syrian Embassy in Beirut announced that the known number of Syrian martyrs as a result of the explosion that rocked the port of Beirut last Tuesday has reached 43 so far, in an unlimited toll.

The embassy said in a statement today ... that, in continuation of its efforts to follow up on the conditions of the Syrian citizens affected by the terrible explosion that struck the port of Beirut, it has provided all facilities to transport the bodies of some of the martyrs to Syria and to help bury others in Lebanon, confirming that they will undertake the necessary coordination efforts. With the concerned authorities in the sisterly Republic of Lebanon to search for the missing, especially since this issue receives direct attention from the Syrian leadership, which has directed it to provide all possible forms of assistance.

The embassy once again expressed its deep sympathy to the families of the Syrian and Lebanese martyrs, and its wishes for a speedy recovery for the wounded citizens of the two brotherly countries and all the citizens of the other countries affected.
