Hasaka-Sana
A fire broke out in Areesha camp, 25 km south of Al-Hasakah, which is controlled by the "Qasd militia" associated with the American occupation, destroying an entire wing containing 25 tents for the displaced.
Sources in the camp told a SANA reporter that the cause of the fire was the use of poor-quality fuel to light a “kerosene burner,” which led to the expansion of the fire and its spread to the rest of the wing tents and completely damaging their contents.
The sources indicated that the fire caused a number of displaced persons to suffocate while trying to extinguish the fire and stop its extension towards other tents and aid them to a hospital in the city of Hasaka.
The camp was set up by the Qasd militia associated with the American occupation to prevent arrivals from the countryside of Hasaka, Deir Ezzor and Raqqa from entering the city of Hasaka, where the number of residents in the camp is 14,000.
