Arrest of drug dealers in Damascus and the confiscation of six kilograms of hashish

The Ministry of Interior announced that the Narcotics Control Branch in Damascus had arrested two drug traffickers in possession of six kilograms and six hundred grams of hashish.

The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement, which SANA received a copy of, that based on the information received by the Narcotics Control Branch in Damascus about the presence of people promoting narcotic substances in the city of Damascus and its countryside, and after following up and monitoring, the branch was able to arrest two drug dealers and promoters in the areas of Al Zahirah and Daf Al Shouk.

The ministry stated in its statement that, upon investigation, they confessed to their work in the trade and promotion of narcotic substances and selling quantities of them to several persons in hiding, and by examining the status of one of them, it was found that he was failing in compulsory service.

The ministry indicated that investigations are still continuing to reveal all those involved with them to take the necessary measures against them.
