New demonstrations to protest against the results of the presidential election in Belarus were dispersed on Monday August 10 by the police, who used tear gas and fired rubber bullets, according to several media.

A witness interviewed by AFP mentioned the shooting and the use of gas in the center of Minsk, the capital, which was coordinated by a large police force. An AFP journalist saw hundreds of demonstrators gathered in various parts of the city and the police making arrests.
