U.S. President Donald Trump was evacuated by Secret Service personnel during a press briefing at the White House tonight (Monday through Tuesday) after a shooting incident occurred outside the White House.
According to the president, who returned to complete the briefing for reporters, the shooting took place outside the White House compound and the shooter was neutralized. The president told reporters he "feels very safe in the White House thanks to secret service personnel."
The president also told reporters that the shooter was seeking medical treatment at the hospital. "There was shooting outside the White House. The matter seems to be under control. But there was actual shooting, and someone was taken to the hospital. I do not know what the man's condition is," the president said.
Trump said he was taken by Secret Service personnel to the Oval Office. As mentioned, Trump returned to the press briefing and continued to talk to reporters about the tax breaks planned by the administration.
