It's historic. For the first time in American history, a black woman will become the running mate of a presidential candidate. Joe Biden has, in fact, chosen the black senator Kamala Harris to occupy the place of vice-president on his presidential ticket.

The senator's parents are from Jamaica and India. In just three years, the Californian has established herself as a key figure in Washington among Democratic senators. She was formidable against Judge Brett Kavanaugh before his accession to the Supreme Court. While her candidacy for the Democratic primary did not meet with the expected success - she abandoned the race in early December, two months before the Iowa caucus - the campaign has finished installing her name on the national stage. All of these arguments made her the favorite on the online betting site Predictit. Yet, according to a Politico journalist, his loyalty was in doubt in the candidate's entourage. The senator had not spared her opponent during the first debate between Democrats last year and has since assured not to regret anything.
