Munich - Markus Söder takes care of the meaningful appearances as an energetic crisis manager personally. He generously leaves the announcement of hair-raising mishaps to his health minister, who seems hopelessly overwhelmed . 900 (!) Positive (!!) tests were not sent to those affected. The number makes you dizzy.
This means that all the mockery about North Rhine-Westphalia and Armin Laschet will have been dealt with for the foreseeable future. The next test offensive had already been announced in full on Monday - that chaos was already reigning at the borders and at the airport , apparently no one in the state government noticed despite large press reports. Two days were wasted before Melanie Huml went public on Wednesday. That alone is a scandal.
This is all the more annoying because the numbers of people returning from vacation should raise all alarm bells anyway. It is becoming more and more clear that the Balkans in particular pose a huge corona risk . Only this time the conditions are different: The middle and upper classes brought the virus to Germany from Ischgl. From Eastern Europe, many people with a migration background are now returning from home leave to their workplaces (often in the care and health sector, of all things) and to schools.
