In all meetings, many party members asked the government to convene a meeting as soon as possible to deal with funding related to the epidemic, and not to wait until the meeting resumed in October. It is reported that Lam Cheng agreed to convene the Finance Committee as soon as the end of this month to approve the "Anti-epidemic Fund 3.0" funding, and will arrange the Chief Secretary for Administration Zhang Jianzong to attend the meeting and the Secretary for Food and Health Chen Zhaoshi to attend the health affairs Committee meeting to answer questions from members.
Carrie Lam and some of the secretary-generals met with legislators from various political parties at the government headquarters yesterday. It is reported that Carrie Lam mainly explained the decision to postpone the election and the rationale for the decision of the National People's Congress. Regarding the election arrangements for the next year, the two major parties, the DAB and the Federation of Trade Unions, both demand that the government convene the Finance Committee early to approve funding such as the "Anti-epidemic Fund 3.0", worrying that it will be too late after the meeting resumes in October.
Some participants revealed that Carrie Lam was active in the relevant proposals at the meeting. As the timetable for the resumption of the meeting has yet to be discussed with the President of the Legislative Council, the Finance Committee is expected to be held in late August and early September at the earliest to discuss "anti-epidemic Fund 3.0" funding, but may not be reviewed in the order of funding that was not passed and passed in the previous session.

As for the General Assembly of the Legislative Council, it is reported that Carrie Lam insisted that the meeting will not resume before October because she feels that every meeting begins to deal with 6 oral questions from members, which may prevent the meeting from focusing on anti-epidemic issues.
Another participant pointed out that in response to the continuing epidemic in Hong Kong, Zhang Jianzong and Chen Zhaoshi will attend the internal meetings and health affairs committee meetings as required to answer the concerns raised by members about the epidemic.
