Wednesday, 12 August 2020, 18:47The Ministry of Health announced today (Wednesday) that tomorrow at 16:00 the countries to which Israelis will be able to fly and return without the need for isolation will be announced. This follows a summary between Transport Minister Miri Regev, Health Minister Yuli Edelstein, Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi and Tourism Minister Assaf Zamir. According to the announcement, the professional discussions will continue during the day and also tomorrow. It is not yet known whether those countries to which it will be possible to fly and return without isolation will agree to accept Israelis.
Meanwhile, a senior Foreign Ministry official said that Minister Ashkenazi spoke on the phone with his Greek counterpart Nikos Dandias. The two agreed that the Greek minister will visit Israel tomorrow. The main issue the two discussed is tensions between Greece and Turkey over the controversy over gas drilling in the eastern Mediterranean.
The senior Foreign Ministry official also noted that one of the issues to be discussed by the ministers is the possibility of resuming flights between the two countries. However, he said, there is still no agreement on the issue between the parties.
