Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Jumbo) won the 2nd stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné on Thursday at the Col de Porte (Isère), and took control of the event. Roglic broke away in the last hectomers to beat Frenchman Thibaut Pinot, German Emanuel Buchmann and another Frenchman, Guillaume Martin by 8 seconds. The Colombian Egan Bernal, winner of the last Tour de France, took 10th place on the stage and gave up ten seconds in Roglic, the strongest already last week at the Tour de l'Ain. The Ineos team set the pace for most of the final climb (van Baarle, Castroviejo, Kwiatkowski, Thomas, Sivakov) but Bernal found himself alone 2.5 kilometers from the finish. Frenchman Bruno Armirail, survivor of a breakaway launched in the first few minutes, held out until 8.5 kilometers from the finish.
