California authorities ordered the evacuation of about 500 homes following a massive forest fire that spread rapidly north of Los Angeles and destroyed 4,000 hectares of land early today.
Agence France-Presse quoted the Los Angeles County Fire Department as saying on Twitter that the fire broke out around Lake Hughes and first destroyed a small area of 20 hectares before it expanded and came to four thousand hectares in just over three hours, indicating that the area's residents were being evacuated from Before the local police.
More than 300 firefighters, backed by helicopters and aircraft, worked to bring the fire under control.
It is noteworthy that the number of fires has increased and increased in frequency in recent years in the state, partly due to climate change.
The Camp Fire that raged in northern California in November 2018 was the fiercest after it destroyed the entire small town of Paradise, killing 86 residents and destroying 90 percent of its buildings.
