The Corona Protection Ordinance has been changed in NRW. This means that several changes in connection with the coronavirus will take effect immediately.
- The Corona Protection Ordinance will be extended in NRW until August 31.
- From August 12th, some changes in the ordinance will come into force in NRW .
- Schools, daycare centers, return travelers and bus and train customers are particularly affected.
Dortmund - The Corona Protection Ordinance of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia will be extended until August 31, 2020. Some changes occurred in it on August 12th. RUHR24.de * explains in the overview what exactly is changing.

Corona Protection Ordinance NRW: Changes will take effect from August 12th
The following applies to all bus and train drivers: Be careful when wearing the mask . If you get caught on buses or trains without, you have to pay for it immediately. Maskless driving on public transport is now an administrative offense according to the Corona Protection Ordinance . A 150 euro fine is due immediately and without prior warning for mask-muffle *.
Basically, as before , the mask requirement also applies in closed rooms or at weekly markets - the mask requirement was initially extended to August 31.
Coronavirus: Changes from August 12th at the beginning of school and in NRW
With the start of school in North Rhine-Westphalia , the regulations for the mask requirement there also come into force. They are initially valid until August 31, 2020. The following applies:
" All persons who are in a school building or on school premises are obliged to wear a face-to-face mask, including in class. "
For elementary school students , this rule does not apply, as long as classes are held and they sit on their seats. There is also no mask requirement in the all-day and childcare facilities. From now on, there is also a fixed seating arrangement in the classroom in order to be able to understand possible chains of infection .
Coronavirus: Quarantine exception for returnees to NRW
Changes for daycare children in NRW * will not take effect from August 12th, but rather from August 17th. On this date, regular operations in the daycare centers start - under strict Corona hygiene measures .
In daycare centers in North Rhine-Westphalia, strict corona hygiene rules will apply from August 17th.

There are also changes in the NRW Corona Protection Ordinance for travelers returning . The following still applies: Anyone who returns to Germany after a trip to a risk area and has a positive corona test must be in quarantine for 14 days . This also applies to travelers who cannot be tested. Anyone who resists this is committing an administrative offense . Quarantine is not necessary if the test for Covid-19 is negative .

- State Chancellery NRW (@landnrw) August 11, 2020According to the amended Corona Travel Ordinance, the quarantine regulation does not apply to people who are "in the federal territory to carry out diplomatic or consular tasks or mandatory professional matters or to take or prepare for training or study-related examinations". The prerequisite is that these people do not stay in Germany for more than 72 hours.
Changes to the Corona Protection Ordinance: State of North Rhine-Westphalia concerned
The NRW Ministry of Health justifies the maintenance of the measures with the currently increasing number of infections at the end of the travel season. Most recently, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) also warned of the number of infected people rising again. 60 percent of all new cases were based on increases in North Rhine-Westphalia and Baden-Württemberg at the end of July.
