Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - The Dax presented itself weaker in early Friday trading and initially moved away from the 13,000 point mark. The leading German index initially lost 0.40 percent to 12,941.60 points.
On Tuesday, the index passed the round mark again after almost three weeks. However, there is currently a lack of impetus to remain sustainable.
For the MDax it went in early trading by 0.78 percent to 27,491.31 points. The EuroStoxx 50, the leading index for the Eurozone, fell by 0.7 percent.
Corporate figures provided less impetus at the end of the week than on the days before. The battery manufacturer Varta had raised the forecast the evening before after the market closed. The shares had already climbed to a record high in late Xetra trading and had thus passed their previous high from December 2019. This Friday, investors took profits: the shares fell by more than nine percent.
The papers from Klöckner & Co (KlöCo) gave a little. Traders spoke of a solid quarter for the steel trader. Deutsche Euroshop fell after initial gains by 2.77 percent. The rental sales of the shopping center investor had increased further in June. However, analysts continue to see high levels of uncertainty. The titles of the headlight manufacturer Hella have only been slightly changed after the final annual figures.
Investors reacted positively to the announcement by Aareal Bank that the real estate financier is selling a stake in its IT subsidiary Aareon to the financial investor Advent. Aareal shares gained almost eight percent.
In the Dax, only a few stocks were up. Car values were ahead: Continental, for example, posted an increase of 0.6 percent.
