A couple experienced a real tragedy this morning in Glew, Almirante Brown's party. They woke up to a group of thieves inside their room. The man defended himself from the assault, but one of the shots seriously wounded his wife. There is a dead criminal and three detainees.
The dramatic episode occurred this Friday at 2.15 in Roldán 200, when Raquel Verónica Arbona (45) and her partner, Gustavo Eduardo Obregón (46), were sleeping and heard noises. When they woke up they saw that inside the room there was a thief who threatened them with a scissors , and that he had entered the property, located on the first floor, along with three others, climbing onto a balcony.
Then, Gustavo, an employee of a transportation company, took a 9mm pistol from his nightstand to defend himself. At that moment, a struggle began and the man fired between 7 and 8 shots , according to sources from the investigation confirmed to Clarín .
One of the bullets hit a thief and another hit Verónica's head, who was seriously injured.
Faced with this situation, the thieves escaped. The wounded man ran to one side and his three accomplices to the other, where a white Ford Focus was waiting for them, investigators were able to see on a security camera footage.
By a call to 911, agents from the 7th police station of Almirante Brown, with jurisdiction in Glew, arrived at the scene.
Raquel Arbona is an employee of the SPB and Gustavo Obregón of a flow transportation company.
The police found Arbona, an employee of the Buenos Aires Penitentiary Service (SPB) lying face up on the floor of the room, with a gunshot wound to her face and near her the husband's 9-millimeter pistol and several sheaths served in the floor.
The woman was rushed by an ambulance from Same to the Lucio Meléndez hospital in Adrogué where she is hospitalized in critical condition and this Friday afternoon she was going to enter the operating room.
The case is investigated by the prosecutor Ricardo Silvestrini, from the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 11 thematic Entraderas de Lomas de Zamora, who appeared at the scene of the event to give the first instructions.
Thus it was as when searching in health centers in the area, the Police detected that three young people had entered the Glew Prompt Attention Unit (UPA), one of whom was shot and died at the scene.
Investigators suspect that the dead young man, identified as Luis Ángel González (20), was one of the thieves wounded by the shots of the owner of the Glew house, while a few minutes after the fact and thanks to the alert from the neighbors, the Police surrounded the area and arrested two suspects identified as Roberto Daniel Chayan (24) and Brian Humberto Chávez (22).
Later, the same white Focus in which the attackers had escaped returned to Glew's UPA with González's mother. Upon being identified by the Police, the driver broke down and confessed that he did "de remís" to transfer the thieves to the place of the robbery and then to the living room.
With this and other clues, the investigators found a fourth assailant, also wounded by a gunshot, at the San Justo Hospital. This last detainee was identified as Ayrton Barraza. For now, the driver of the car is free.
Prosecutor Silvestrini decided to split the case into two causes, one for the attempted robbery in which Obregón and his wife are the victims and the arrested are the accused; and another for the murder of the alleged thief and the attempt by the woman who was shot, where at the moment no temperament was adopted with the owner of the house. As explained to Clarín by a source with access to the file, "the situation of legitimate defense is proven" although there may be an accusation for hurting his wife.
"So far, everything indicates that the only firearm fired in the house is that of the husband," said a judicial source. In the victims' room, the experts found a scissors, which would be the knife with which the thief threatened them.
SPB spokespersons confirmed that Arbona is assigned to the Subdirectorate of Operations of the institution and works as an assistant in the Departmental Warden of Avellaneda.
Meanwhile, about Obregón, it is known that he is an employee of Maco Transportadora de Caudales and the sources indicated that the pistol he used has been registered , although the carrying was expired.
