The Lebanese President, General Michel Aoun, affirmed that all the assumptions remain regarding the cause of the explosion that occurred in the Beirut port, and none of them can be tolerated.
Aoun said in a televised interview tonight: "There is no delay in the investigation of the explosion, but we need time to find out the truth because it is complex, and all the assumptions still exist, and none of them can be tolerated."
Aoun indicated that he would ask the new government, upon its formation, to initiate reforms first and to achieve rapid results, explaining that the criminal financial investigation approved by the caretaker government will determine the financial responsibilities that violate the laws and which were the starting point for corruption.
The Lebanese Minister of Health in the caretaker government, Hamad Hassan, announced yesterday that the number of victims of the port explosion has risen to 177.
