A chilling moment captured by the security camera in Para, Brazil, shows a car accident in which a scooter rider crashes into a moving car and flies straight into an open sewer shaft, to which she falls with her head down. The 27-year-old was stuck in a long minute face until she was shirtless and taken to the hospital, where she is expected to undergo spinal surgery.

Monday, 17 August 2020, 00:23Mayra dos Santos, 27, a resident of Para, Brazil, had a serious car accident last Wednesday when she crashed her scooter into a moving vehicle and flew straight into an open sewer shaft. The security camera recorded the moment a vehicle turned left on the avenue just as Dos Santos was passing in the area. The hit threw her on the asphalt and then rolled into the drainage opening on the sides of the road, to which she fell with her head down and remained stuck in it for long minutes.
A video posted on the network after the incident shows the scooter rider colliding head-on with the red vehicle that made a left turn on the boulevard. The rider flew from the force of the impact and fell into the drain opening that reaches a depth of two meters. The driver of the vehicle immediately got out of the vehicle to try to rescue her, without success. He was joined by other passers-by who tried their best to assist in the rescue attempt.

In another video posted from the place, more and more passers-by are seen trying to rescue the poor thing and finally succeed in their mission. Brazilian news site O Liberal reported that Luis Carlos Dinitz entered the sewer to rescue Dos Santos before paramedics arrived at the scene. Dos Santos spent a few minutes in the sewers before being rushed to Para's East Public Hospital.

At the hospital, Dos Santos was diagnosed with a serious spinal injury. Her family told the media that Dos Santos is expected to undergo important surgery to repair the damage done to the spine following the severe fall.
