Tonight (Monday to Tuesday), IDF fighter jets and aircraft attacked underground infrastructure of the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip.
The IDF said that the attack was carried out in response to the blowing up of explosive balloons and burning from the Gaza Strip to Israeli territory during the day.
Since this morning, fire crews have been operating in 20 hotspots where fires broke out as a result of incendiary balloons in the area of the Eshkol and Sha'ar Hanegev regional councils.
Most of the fires broke out in open areas, but one broke out in the yard of a kindergarten in Sderot. The kindergarten was empty and no children were present. Fire and rescue crews said the fire broke out in a closet outside the park. At the same time, a thorn bush fire broke out in Nahal Gerar and firefighters and rescuers reported that the incident was still ongoing. Fire crews from the Be'er Sheva station, with the assistance of the Nature and Parks Authority, a police helicopter and firefighting planes from the Elad Squadron are operating there.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian security delegation entered the Gaza Strip today (Monday) through the Erez crossing, after visiting Ramallah last night. This was reported in the Palestinian media. The purpose of the visit is to calm the winds that are particularly stormy following the halt in the transfer of funds to Qatar.
