Rabbi Gershon Edelstein, president of the Council of Torah Scholars and one of the greatest of the ultra-Orthodox-Lithuanian generation, announced today (Wednesday) that the ultra-Orthodox yeshivot will all open this coming Sunday, as part of what is known as "Zaman Elul." According to the rabbi, "We were assisted by Dashmia, who at the beginning of the time of Elul now, all the yeshivas were arranged with the rules of caution. The yeshivas continue in full. Until now, there have been all kinds of difficulties."

The announcement is unusual, since at the beginning of the week, Corona commissioner Prof. Roni Gamzo told ultra-Orthodox reporters that he would not allow all the meetings to open, for fear of the virus spreading further.
