The National Commission for Network Services announced the names of the winners of the vulnerability detection contest that it organized yesterday in cooperation with the Regional Center for Cybersecurity, Silencec and MTN Syria.

The director of the authority, Engineer Ali Ali, explained in a statement to the SANA delegate that the aim of the competition, which is held for the first time in Syria, is to enhance and develop skills in the cyber horizon, discover Syrian talents in this field, highlight the importance of communication and participate in regional and international competitions, build a culture of awareness in this field and qualify national experiences.

Ali pointed out that the 100 participants were divided into the student and professional categories, as they logged into the competition’s platform, and the number of successful students was in the student category 2 and in the professional category 4, pointing out that the winners will receive accredited certificates and valuable in-kind prizes, and a national team will be formed in this field. To participate in the regional competition later.

The competition included several questions and challenges in different areas of cybersecurity, such as ethical hacking, protection of information and communication technology infrastructure systems, malware analysis, digital evidence analysis, and specifically educational objectives within the categories of knowledge that you assess through theoretical questions and competence that were assessed through practical questions.

The Ministry of Communications and Technology organized the “National Network Services Authority” yesterday, which was held within the framework of the Regional Cybersecurity Competition “Information Security” from three in the afternoon until seven in the evening, targeting two groups, the first from the age of “17 to 24 years old” and the second over 24 years of age with skills In the field of information technology, specifically "information security".

It is noteworthy that the Arab competition has been designed by the Arab Regional Center for Cybersecurity of the International Telecommunication Union in cooperation with Silencec since 2018 to develop skills and talents in Arab countries in the field of cybersecurity and to cope with its challenges.
