"They announced a ban on MAGA caps. Get better tires for much less," the president asked his followers. The company employs 60,000 people in the States and has already responded.

President Donald Trump made a call on Wednesday not to buy tires from the US company Goodyear  because it allegedly prevents its employees from wearing outfits with their electoral slogan from the last elections, MAGA (Make America Great Again, which can be translated as Let's Make America Great Again).

The accusation against the company was made by an official who posted a photo of a training session at the plant in Topeka, Kansas, where they were taught zero tolerance policies on certain ideological messages.

In the image, which was later released by the 13WIBW chain, it is appreciated that messages such as Black Lives Matters or that refer to the LGBT community are considered "acceptable" by the company, while messages such as Blue Lives Matters, All lives matters, MAGA attire or any political slogan or message is considered "not acceptable".

In response, Trump asked his followers through the social network Twitter that "do not complete Goodyear tires." "They announced a ban on MAGA hats. Get better tires for a lot less," he said.

Through a statement, the Ohio-based tire manufacturer explained that the released image "was not created or distributed by the Goodyear corporation."

However, it acknowledges that it asked its affiliates and associates "to refrain from expressions in the workplace in support of political campaigns in favor of any candidate or party, as well as similar forms of defense that are outside the scope of questions of justice. and racial equity ".

In response to Trump's tweet, users on social networks have shared images of the limousine used by the president, which uses Goodyear tires.

Others criticize him for his call for a boycott against the only large company that makes tires in the United States and that provides jobs to more than 60,000 people in the country.

In addition, it has its main base in Ohio, considered a pendulum state in the next elections and which can be decisive when defining the winner.
