Two suspects are arrested for the crime of the Uber driver in Gregorio de Laferrere

Two young people were arrested this Wednesday, accused of having participated in the crime of the Uber driver, Iván Jaras (29), who was killed last Sunday while working.

Judicial sources reported that the arrests were made after a series of raids at different points in Rafael Castillo.

They were under the supervision of the prosecutor for the case, Marcos Borghi , in charge of the Functional Unit of Instruction (UFI) Thematic Homicide Painful of the La Matanza Judicial Department.

The incident occurred last Sunday at the intersection of Juan Carlos Llerena and Esteban Echeverría streets, near the border between Gregorio de Laferrere and Rafael Castillo, in the jurisdiction of the La Matanza party.

A call to 911 from a neighbor was the one that alerted the members of the local Patrol Command because a body had been thrown in that place from a moving car.

Upon reaching that corner, the personnel found that the victim had been killed by a gunshot in the neck.

According to sources, the young man worked as a driver for the Uber passenger transport application and his gray Chevrolet Corsa was found on fire on Monday morning about 10 blocks from where they left his body .

The spokesmen clarified that the body was not thrown from that vehicle and an attempt was made to identify the vehicle used by the criminals, a car of the same make and model.

In principle, the investigators did not rule out any hypothesis, including that of a robbery.

" They threw him as if they were killing a dog , I don't know what qualification to give him, he was a worker," Sergio Jaras, Iván's father, lamented before the press this Tuesday.

Everything happened in an approximate range of 20 blocks around where they found Iván's body, on Sunday and less than two hours after the notification of the trip arrived, according to Clarín based on sources in the investigation.

In that area where Gregorio de Laferrere borders Rafael Castillo, everything happened: the robbery, the crime, the disposal of the body and then the fire of the white Chevrolet Corsa that Iván had rented for two days to work because his was broken.

" They pretended to be passengers and, once in the car, they transferred him to the passenger seat and went to a field where, we suspect, they killed him and then dumped the body about ten blocks away," the investigators detailed.
