Is Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai considering running for Knesset soon? At the "Cinema on the Water" event launched this evening (Thursday), the Tel Aviv Municipality was asked in an interview with Channel 13 whether he would run for the next Knesset and responded: "Everything is on the agenda."
Huldai further added that he is always considering his moves. "This coming Monday we will see what happens" he commented on the possibility of a fourth election and hurried back to the topic of the event in his honor.
Over the years, the veteran Tel Aviv mayor has not ruled out the possibility of running for Knesset later in his career, and now it seems that Huldai is recalculating a route. If he does decide to run for the 24th Knesset, it is estimated that he will run for the party on the left side of the political map.
Ron Huldai is the tenth mayor of Tel Aviv, and has been in office since November 1998. In the last election, he defeated his rival Assaf Zamir with about 46% of the vote (compared to 34% for Zamir).
